Mara began her professional cooking journey in 1984 when a friend asked her to cater a Bat mitzvah. She relies on recipes as a guide to prepare her dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in every meal. In 2004, she opened a restaurant named Mara's Homemade, which quickly became a local favorite.

Despite the restaurant's success, it closed its doors in 2022. However, the demand for Mara's unique flavors remained strong. In the summer of 2023, she started selling her special blended seasonings, sauces, and pickles to local butcher stores and specialty food shops.

Continuing to innovate, Mara began bottling Raw Unfiltered Hot Honey in the summer of 2024. Her newfound interest in honey, inspired by its health benefits, led her to create preserves using honey instead of sugar. Mara's commitment to quality and flavor continues to bring her creations to a wider audience, delighting customers with each new product.
